ABOUT RFC DALLAS

RFC Dallas, Inc. is a nonprofit flying club run by member volunteers, based at Addison Airport (KADS) in the heart of the DFW metroplex. Our goal is to provide a well-maintained fleet of aircraft at affordable rates to our members. We also strive to provide a wide range of educational and social opportunities to help members grow as pilots, meet other pilots, and simply enjoy aviation.

History

What does "RFC" stand for? The club originally existed as a company flying club. It was started by Bob Hoover as the Rockwell Flying Club when North American Aviation merged with Rockwell in 1967. Fifteen years later, when Rockwell-Collins decided to no longer have a company flying club, our Club was separately incorporated in Texas as RFC Dallas, Incorporated.

Meetings

The Club's general membership meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month (except December), in Addison, TX. These meetings include updates on Club business and aircraft maintenance, plus a program presented by a guest speaker. Reach out to us at info@rfcdallas.com for information.

Membership Costs

Our Club leases its aircraft from their owners, who are active Club members and are responsible for aircraft maintenance. The Membership Deposits are used as working capital for the Club. Your deposit is refunded when you leave the Club so long as you've been an active member for at least 6 months. The Initiation Fee covers the cost of bringing a new member into the Club. The monthly Membership Dues cover our fixed costs of insurance, patio hangars, and administrative costs. The hourly rental rate, based on Hobbs time, covers the aircraft lease rate, fuel, and oil.

Membership Deposit & Initiation Fee:
  • $500 Membership Deposit

  • $65 Initiation Fee

Tiered Dues:

  • Tier 1: $70/month for Cherokee only

  • Tier 2: $85/month for the Arrow and/or C-182, plus Tier 1 aircraft

  • Tier 3: $95/month for the Bonanzas, plus Tier 2 aircraft

  • Tier 4: $105/month for the Cirrus, plus Tier 3 aircraft

Once a member advances to a higher tier level, for instance from Tier 1 to Tier 2, the member stays at that higher tier level during their tenure with the Club.

Insurance

Members are responsible for any and all damage that occurs to Club aircraft. However, the Club maintains an insurance policy that covers the Club, its aircraft, and the individual members. So long as the insurance policy covers a loss, the member's responsibility is limited to the deductible.

BasicMed

We accept BasicMed. Check out How to Join for our BasicMed form and instructions.

Aircraft Scheduling

We have an online scheduling system that makes it very convenient to make or change a reservation on an aircraft.  Club rules permit members to have up to three future-dated reservations at a time, plus an additional reservation for the current day.

Club By-Laws and Policies
